COMMAGENE. Samosata. 1st Century BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 19 mm, 5.45 g, 12 h), possibly an emergency coin struck during the siege of Samosata by Publius Ventidius Bassus and Mark Antony, c. 30 BC. Lion walking slowly to right. Rev. CAMOCATΩ ΠOΛEΩC The Tyche of Samosata seated to right on a rock-bed, holding palm branch. ACV 239. BMC 7. Kovacs 291. RPC 3850. Green patina with earthen highlights. Nearly very fine.
